Eldersource Institute connects to and engages with individuals age 50 and older through opportunities that enhance their lives and their communities. Leveraging our leadership and expertise, Eldersource Institute also supports professionals in being better informed and more proactive in responding to the needs of people as they age. Activities include opportunities for older adults and caregivers such as evidence based health and wellness programs. While these trainings are focused on the older adult consumer, other trainings for professionals will also be provided including, but not limited to age sensitivity training, LGBT elder cultural competency training and elder abuse awareness and prevention. Future opportunities will expand in the way of topics and modalities to include in person at various community-based locations as well as at Eldersource Institute and on-line training web-based training.

LGBT elder cultural competency training - a training for professionals who work with older adults and help them better understand key concepts, vocabulary, and the many barriers facing the LGBT community. Participants receive the tools they need to confidently and comfortably work with and care for LGBT seniors. Over 800 professionals participated in a training this year. From that, countless clients have benefited.
