About

Everybody Matters mission is to teach coping skills to emotionally vulnerable students. This improves their ability to live, love, and learn. Founded in 2015 by former school social worker Lori Madrid, Everybody Matters uses a proprietary model to provide social emotional support to vulnerable students who would not otherwise have access to care. To that end, Everybody Matters utilizes college level interns trained in the Everybody Matters Proprietary Model to provide social emotional support to students for a fraction of the cost of hiring clinicians to provide this same service. In its fourth year of providing social emotional services to students, Everybody Matters continues to experience exponential growth and has almost doubled the number of students its served since the last school year. In the most recent survey, 96 percent of teachers reported that they would recommend this program to their peers. Specifically, the Everybody Matters Proprietary Model trains highly qualified college level interns to meet with students individually or in groups. groups over a period of at least ten weeks to address social emotional concerns. During 2018, these interns have been able to meet with over 1236 students utilizing a wide variety of evidence based intervention strategies to address behaviors that may indicate a lack of self management, self awareness, social awareness, responsible decision making or emotional regulation. Although the services are not considered psychotherapy, using many different evidence based modalities is beneficial for a number of reasons, primarily because it recognizes that no two students are alike and that the intervention options should be as diverse as the clients requesting intervention.
