About this organization
Mission
To support issues pertaining to hunger, homelessness, and job training
About
The goal of Charleston Chefs Feed the Need is to serve approximately 500 meals per week using four different service venues. In Charleston, South Carolina, 52 restaurants have come together to make this effort possible. They rallied to each commit to one day of food service, 52 weeks per year, at three local nonprofits--Tricounty Family Ministries, One80Place, and Neighborhood House. Meals are prepared in the restaurant's kitchen and delivered and served by the restaurant's staff. This effort effectively frees up funds that the agencies would need to spend on meal service on that given day, allowing them to serve more meals on other days. It also relieves them of the need to organize volunteers for that particular day.
