Mission

To enhance the cultural life of the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island.

About

Dirt Palace Public Projects facilitates the storefront window gallery located at 14 Olneyville Square, Providence. The storefront window gallery is a public art exhibition space with a monthly rotation of artist installations. 11 artists exhibited in the gallery in 2018. The exhibition is visible to the general public in Olneyville Square 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the fall of 2018, we began our Woonasquatucket River Greenway Arts (WRGA) project in partnership with Providence's Department of Art, Culture + Tourism, wherein we commissioned artists to create work about the river. In conjunction with each WRGA art installation, we hosted a public event - an artist talk - during which each window artist was interviewed about their work by another artist in the community. This programming began in October 2018 and will continue through July of 2019.
