About this organization
Mission
The mission of Brookwood in Georgetown is to provide an innovative vocational and residential community for adults with special needs and to change the way the world views this population.
About
Brookwood in Georgetown is a very 'out of the box' innovative vocational community serving 80 adults with special needs ('citizens') where everything they make is sold in a high-end gift shop, cafe and greenhouse. We want to change the way our world views this population by taking the 'status quo' of providing these individuals with custodial care to these individuals creating beautiful, marketable items to sell to help sustain the vocational community they enjoy everyday. Our citizens have become artisans creating beautiful pottery and artwork, bakers, gardeners, card makers, jewelry makers, sales associates and more.
