Education 4 Change - English as a second language in Nicaragua. Funds raised by our casino fundraising events were used to employ 1 teacher and 3 assistant teachers for 60 students in Nicaragua. These children live in a small and remote fishing village accessed by dirt roads. This is a community that has been forgotten by the government. The community receives virtually no public funds for education. As a result, children fall behind in school and are unable to excel in the upper grades, diminishing opportunities for future employment. By providing ESL teachers we are directly impacting future job options with added career and income opportunities for these students.
