THE ORGANIZATION'S TOP PROGRAM CONSISTS OF PROVIDING TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO ALL LEAGUE MEMBERS WHICH ENCOMPASSES THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION TO PROMOTE VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOP THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN AND IMPROVE COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL WOMEN, AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD, WHO ARE COMMITTED TO VOLUNTARISM. THE LEAGUE INVOLVES AND ENGAGES ITS MEMBERS IN A VARIETY OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE, SKILL BUILDING AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. THESE OPPORTUNITIES ALLOW MEMBERS TO BUILD SKILLS PROFESSIONALLY AND PERSONALLY, LEARN MORE ABOUT THE OMAHA COMMUNITY AND MAKE AN IMPACT ON ITS ISSUES, NETWORK AND MAKE NEW CONNECTIONS AND FRIENDSHIPS, PLAN AND ORGANIZE EVENTS AND/OR FUNDRAISERS, DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS, GAIN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF NONPROFIT WORK, AND JOIN A COMMITTEE WHICH ALIGNS WITH STRENGTHS AND INTERESTS.INCLUDED WITHIN THE LEAGUE'S MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM ARE TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP. THE LEAGUE'S MENTORSHIP PROGRAM WAS CREATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENGAGING AND RETAINING CURRENT MEMBERS IN THE LEAGUE.
