Mission

Negative Population Growth, Inc. (NPG) is a national non-profit membership organization founded in 1972. NPG's primary mission is to educate the American public and policymakers regarding the detrimental effects of overpopulation on our nation's environment, resources, and quality of life. NPG advocates broad public discussion on population size and growth, and U.S. endorsement of smaller family sizes through voluntary decisions. Studies have also found that immigration will soon become the primary driver of U.S. population growth. As a population organization, this data necessitates NPG's evaluation of immigration rates. NPG therefore advocates a significant reduction in immigration levels, for the sole purpose of reducing U.S. population size and growth.
