Mission

Co-founded in 2005 by Robert Redford and his son and board chair, James Redford, The Redford Center harnesses the power of film, video and new media to engage people through inspiring stories that galvanize environmental action. Drawing on the family's multi-generational expertise in filmmaking and activism, we produce, fund and fiscally sponsor impact-driven productions that showcase stories of individuals taking action to protect and restore the planet. Leveraging our network of issue experts and a stable of talented directors and producers, The Redford Center carefully vets each project we take on each of our programs.

About

Fiscal Sponsorship Program:The Redford Center is committed to helping filmmakers get high impact environmental and social justice films funded, made and seen. Our Fiscal Sponsorship Program, launched on September 1, 2015, enables The Redford Center to support more impact film projects in a less hands-on capacity. As a fiscal sponsor, The Redford Centers role is to make sure our filmmakers are spending grant funds appropriately, and to support them in the filming process so that they can create work that helps change the world. As of the end of 2018 the fiscal sponsorship program has grown to include 30 fiscally sponsored projects.
