Mission

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

About

Over a period of 12 weeks, girls participate in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. The lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development discussing topics such as eating disorders, internet safety, relationships, cyber-bullying and tobacco & alcohol use. Girls are encouraged to examine and better understand who they are and what's important to them. Participants explore and discuss their own beliefs around experiences and challenges girls face at this age. At the end of each season, the girls and their running buddies complete the Girls on the Run 5k. For this fiscal year we had 322 community runners, and 847 running buddies.
