EXISTS TO SUPPORT FIBUSPAM-ECUADOR BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO ACHIEVE COST-EFFECTIVE, SUSTAINABLE, AND APPROPRIATE MEDICAL CARE FOR ECUADORIANS MOST IN NEED. FIBUSPAM PROVIDES LIFE-CHANGING MEDICAL SERVICES AND HOPE THROUGH OUR PRIMARY CARE, DENTISTRY, OPHTHALMOLOGY, AND MULTI-SPECIALTY SURGICAL PROGRAMS. FIBUSPAM-ECUADOR WAS FOUNDED IN 2007 AND EVOLVED INTO A FULLY-EQUIPPED MEDICAL CLINIC IN RIOBAMBA, ECUADOR, WITH THE GOAL OF PROVIDING AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE HEALTHCARE TO THE MOST VULNERABLE. THE CLINIC ORIGINALLY SERVED AT-RISK POPULATIONS AND PROVIDED PREVENTIVE CARE AND TREATMENT FOR COMMUNICABLE AND CHRONIC DISEASES, SUCH AS: MALNUTRITION, PARASITIC INFECTION, AND COMPLICATIONS FROM EXPOSURE TO ASH ORIGINATING FROM THE LOCAL VOLCANO. IN 2011, THE CLINIC EXPANDED TO ESTABLISH TWO OPERATING THEATERS WITH THE GOAL OF DELIVERING REASONABLY PRICED SURGICAL SERVICES TO THOSE IN NEED. TODAY, FIBUSPAM TREATS THOUSANDS OF PATIENTS A YEAR AND PERFORMS AN AVERAGE OF TWENTY SURGICAL PROCEDURES A MONTH. FIBUSPAM ALSO SERVES THE COMMUNITY THROUGH MOBILE MEDICAL CLINICS, WHICH PROVIDE CARE TO REMOTE AREAS IN THE REGION ON A REGULAR BASIS. FIBUSPAM, INC. WAS FOUNDED IN 2013 WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING THE FINANCIAL AND PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEER NEEDS OF FIBUSPAM-ECUADOR. SINCE INCEPTION FIBUSPAM HAS TREATED OVER 40,000 PATIENTS. IN 2016, THROUGH FIBUSPAM, INC'S SUPPORT, FIBUSPAM-ECUADOR PROVIDED AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE TO 16,755 PATIENTS, OF WHICH 5,978 WERE TREATED THROUGH THE MOBILE MEDICAL PROGRAM AND 10,777 PATIENTS WERE TREATED AT THE BASE FACILITY IN RIOBAMBA. PATIENTS WERE TREATED FOR: GENERAL HEALTH CARE, DENTISTRY, OPHTHALMOLOGY, OPTOMETRY, AND VARIOUS SURGICAL SPECIALTIES. FIBUSPAM'S WORK HAS BROUGHT HEALTH AND HOPE FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE TO ECUADORIANS MOST IN NEED. FIBUSPAM ALSO SUPPORTS THE MEDICAL NEEDS OF ECUADORIAN CHILDREN NEEDING SPECIALIZED SURGICAL CARE IN THE UNITED STATES. IN 2016, FIBUSPAM SUPPORTED THE CARE OF A TEENAGE BURN VICTIM WHO RECEIVED TREATMENT AT SHRINERS HOSPITAL IN BOSTON. FIBUSPAM ALSO SUPPORTED THE CARE OF AN ECUADORIAN TODDLER WHO SUFFERED FROM A CONGENITAL FOREARM AMPUTATION. THE TODDLER RECEIVED A PROSTHETIC AND ASSOCIATED PHYSICAL THERAPY AT SHRINERS HOSPITAL IN SHREVEPORT. THE INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S PROGRAM HAS IMPROVED THE LIVES OF ECUADORIAN CHILDREN IN PAIN BY GIVING THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE A HEALTHY AND NORMAL LIFE.
