Mission

Vermont Parks Forever exists to enhance and protect the Vermont State Parks through charitable support. VPF increases access to state parks, provides innovative education, and inspires environmental stewardship.

About

Vermont Parks Forever ("VPF") continued its focus on fundraising to support enhancements to Vermont State Parks through innovative educational opportunities and increased access to parks for underserved communities. In 2018, VPF provided park passes for 150 foster families, provided funding for at risk youth to visit state parks as part of a summer literacy camp, funded park entry fees for an adaptive kayaking program held in a state park for people with mobility impairments, and continued to fund an annual memorial summer youth internship on Mount Philo. VPF continued to collaborate on and raise funds for VPF's first large partnership project, "Natural Connections" to redesign the nature centers in six state parks, beginning with the Groton Nature Center and then Button Bay Nature Center. Working with Vermont State Parks and ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, VPF is helping to inspire stewardship and life-long connections to the natural world through innovative, customized place-based education in state park nature centers. VPF increased awareness of its partnership with Vermont State Parks by engaging with Vermonters and park visitors on social media, Vermont Public Radio, an online newsletter, and its website - www.vermontparksforever.org.
