Mission

ECCLA improves the quality, capacity, and equity of services and supports for Colorado’s young children and their families through a statewide network of early childhood councils and key stakeholders. We meet this mission through local and statewide collaboration and leadership, program and policy alignment, and scaling innovation.

About

In 2006, Colorado established 31 early childhood councils to positively impact services for young children and families by building local early childhood systems throughout the state. Councils provide programs and services to improve the quality of early learning, increase access for children to comprehensive health and mental health services, and provide families with meaningful community and parenting supports. ECCLA was formed as an informal collaborative in 1998 with the intention to bring councils together to support each other, align efforts, communicate grant management information, share best practices, and to provide local input to state policy decisions. ECCLA was established as an independent non-profit in 2013, launched formally as a membership association in 2014.
