About

The Humane Society of the Black Hills assists approximately 5,000 animals in the only open adoption shelter in western South Dakota. We provide food, shelter and care for any animal which comes through our doors. We educate the public of city and county ordinances, and proper animal care to include health care. We also assist the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff Department in enforcing city, county and state law related to animals through our animal services enforcement department.
