Peace Catalyst International (PCI) equips individuals, organizations, and local communities to be Jesus-centered peacemakers by holding peacemaking events, seminars, webinars, and training sessions. PCI assists communities in developing relationships with the Muslim community by facilitating events where safe engagement and dialogue can occur.In 2017, PCI conducted activities domestically such as in California (Davis, Camarillo, San Diego), Idaho (Boise), Indiana (Shelbyville), Kentucky (Louisville), North Carolina (Raleigh), Ohio (Columbus), Washington (Seattle), Wisconsin (Milwaukee), and internationally in Bosnia and Indonesia.During the year, PCI facilitated the following programs:-Peace Feasts / Love Your Neighbor Dinners.PCI regularly facilitates dialogues between Christians and Muslims at local ethnic restaurants, Mosques, Churches, and homes for natural conversation and relationship building. PCI also facilitates a meal, or series of meals, coordinated by a Mosque-Church collaboration to educate both communities on the other faith's perspective on love. In 2017, PCI held 20 peace feasts and Love Your Neighbor Dinners involving 528 people total.-Communities of ReconciliationPCI develops these communities of reconciliation by finding groups of 5 10 Christians and 5 10 Muslims (total of 10 to 20 people) to agree to meet monthly for 12 months. The groups meet for four three-month periods, each period ending with a dialogue to discuss each faith community's learning experiences and the spiritual impact of that period. In 2017, PCI had 28 Communities of Reconciliation events involving over 570 people.-TrainingsPCI regularly offers training events to both Christian and Muslims with the purpose of learning about the other. Many of the topics include: refugee resettlement, what is in the Quran, what do Muslims believe, the history of Islam, and how to love your Muslim neighbor. In 2017, PCI hosted 49 training events involving 1,125 people.-Walking with RefugeesPCI partners with, learn from and serve refugees in our cities. In 2017, we hosted 41 such events involving 624 people.-Discussion Groups / Speaking engagements, Other ActivitiesPCI regularly facilities other events and hosts discussion groups on a myriad of topics, including but not limited to the Bible, the Quran, the similarities / differences between Christianity and Islam, personal storytelling, and current events. In 2017, PCI hosted 397 discussion groups / other events involving 5,756 people.
