About this organization
Mission
The Volcker Alliance is a nonprofit founded by former Federal Reserve Board Chairman Paul A. Volcker dedicated to advancing his vision of an empowered public sector workforce. Our work supports current and aspiring public servants by strengthening public service education, championing public service values, and providing strategies to help them deliver better results. Our mission is to empower the public sector workforce to solve the challenges facing our nation.
About
Public Service Excellence Initiatives. The Volcker Alliance is conducting a number of initiatives focused on building a highly capable corps of public servants and, simultaneously, relevant research. In 2018, the Volcker Alliance continued to pursue Renewing America's Civil Service, a joint initiative with the Partnership for Public Service, to identify tangible legislative and executive branch solutions to overhaul the outdated federal civil service system. We released a report entitled, Preparing Tomorrow's Public Service, focused on spurring educational innovation to meet the challenges of complex governance in the future. The Alliance launched the Government-to-University initiative (G2U) in 2018. G2U is an innovative approach to addressing critical governance challenges by building structured regional networks of governments and universities. (continued in Schedule O)
