PROGRAM PROVIDES SUPPORT, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, FACILIATION AND CAPACITY-BUILDING FOR COMMUNITY-BASED CONSERVATION PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT HAWAII, INCLUDING:- 86% OF GATHERING AND WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS SAID THEY LEARNED SOMETHING NEW THAT THEY WILL APPLY AT THEIR HOME SITES.- 95% SAID THEY LEARNED SOMETHING NEW SPECIFICALLY FROM TALKING STORY (SHARING THROUGH CONVERSATION/DISCUSSION).- AFTER 10 YEARS OF WORK, THE E ALU PU NETWORK DEVELOPED ITS OWN SHARED MEASURES TO LOOK AT THE IMPACT OF THEIR SHARED WORK TOGETHER.- THE WORK OF KUA AND THE NETWORKS WERE REPRESENTED AT 39 LOCAL, STATE, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL CONVENINGS OF PROFESSIONALS, POLICY-MAKERS, EDUCATORS, AND STUDENTS. - KUA PROVIDED SITE-BASED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN AREAS INCLUDING COMMUNICATIONS, NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT, STRATEGIC PLANNING, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, PERMITTING, AND LIMU PROPAGATION TO 25 GROUPS. - POLICY ACHIEVEMENTS INCLUDED: (1) IUCN IMPLEMENTED INDIGENOUS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, KUA WAS DESIGNATED AS ONE OF THE FIRST INDIGENOUS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS UNDER THE NEW IUCN CATEGORY.
