New York City H2O Inc. offers educational programs about water and waste treatment systems (in New York City and elsewhere) to interested members of the public. The goal is to raise awareness about the water system and waste treatment processes (including sewage treatment and recycling); expand the understanding that significant resources and skill are required to establish, maintain, and improve the public water system and waste treatment systems; and encourage recycling to reduce the burden imposed on such systems. In 2017 NYC H2O continued offering adult programs highlighting NYC's water infrastructure and ecology reaching 1,500 people in total. We also expanded our school field trips and gave 174 tours of city reservoirs and wetlands to schools in the five boroughs reaching 4,900 students.
