NNSR WAS FORMED IN 2012 WITH THE GOAL OF BRINGING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER IN A POSITIVE, ACTIVE, AND ENRICHING ENVIRONMENT. SINCE OUR FORMATION, WE HAVE GROWN BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. OUR FIRST PROGRAM STARTED WITH JUST 50 KIDS. NOW, WE ARE TAKING IN OVER 5,000 PROGRAM REGISTRAITONS A YEAR. WE HOPE TO KEEP THIS MOMENTUM, SINCE WE FEEL THAT OUR PROGRAMS PROVIDE A MUCH NEEDED OPORTUNITY TO ESCAPE THE EVERPRESENT DIGITAL INTEFACE THAT PERVADES NEARLY EVERY FACET OF OUR SOCIETY. WE PROVIDE ONE SIMPLE SOLUTION; GET OUT AND PLAY WE OFFER A PROGRAM FOR NEARLY EVERYONE TO DITCH THE CELL PHONES, COMPUTER MONITORS, AND TELVISIONS AND JOIN OTHERS FROM THE COMMUNITY IN PLAYING AN ORGANIZED SPORT. About
YOUTH SPORTS OUR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS BRING IN THE MOST REVENUE OF ANY OF OUR PROGRAMS. WE RUN 5 YOUTH SPORTS SEASONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR; WINTER YOUTH HOOPS, SPRING FLAG FOOTBALL, SUMMER YOUTH HOOPS, FALL FLAG FOOTBALL AND FALL YOUTH HOOPS. WE OFFER KINDER THROUGH MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISIONS FOR ALL OF OUR YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES. WE SEE APPROXIMATELY 2500 KIDS ACROSS THESE 5 PROGRAMS MANY OF THEM REGISTERING FOR MULTIPLE PROGRAMS. THESE PROGRAMS ALSO INVOLVE ORGANIZING A DOZEN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, OVER 300 VOLUNTEER COACHES AND 20 EMPLOYEES. WE PRIDE OURSELVES IN RUNNING WELL ORGANIZED RECREATION PROGRAMS THAT PEOPLE COME BACK TO AGAIN AND AGAIN. IN ADDITION TO OUR YOUTH LEAGUES WE ALSO OFFER PEEWEE SPORTS PROGRAMS FOR 3, 4 AND 5 YEAR OLDS. THESE 8 WEEK INTRODUCTORY SPORTS SESSIONS RUN CONCURRENTLY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE OFFER BASKETBALL, T-BALL, SOCCER AND FLAG FOOTBALL. WE SEE APPROXIMATELY 350 LITTLE ONES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. CHILDCARE (SCHOOL BREAK CAMPS AND BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS) WE OFFER AMAZING SCHOOL BREAK CAMPS KIDS PARTICIPATE IN GROUP GAMES, ART PROJECTS, SCIENCE PROJECTS, VARIOUS SPORTS INSTRUCTION AND AMAZING FIELD TRIPS. AS PART OF OUR PROGRAMS PARENTS CAN EXPECT A 1:12 STAFF TO CAMPER RATIO AND INCREASE THAT TO 1:10 ON FIELD TRIPS. OUR STAFF STRIVE TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND FUN EXPERIENCE FOR CAMPERS AND PARENTS ALIKE. THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR WE HAVE 60-80 KIDS ATTEND OUR CAMPS ON A WEEKLY BASIS. NNSR OFFERS 14 WEEKS OF SCHOOL BREAK CAMP INCLUDING SPRING BREAK, SUMMER BREAK, FALL AND WINTER BREAKS. NNSR ALSO OFFER BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING FOR THOSE THAT NEED TO GET TO WORK EARLY OR STAY LATE. STAFF WORK WITH KIDS ON HOMEWORK, PLAY GAMES AND PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE TO GO BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL HOURS. WE SEE BETWEEN 20-4O KIDS ON A GIVEN DAY IN OUR BASP SITES. ADULT BASKETBALL NORTHERN NEVADA SPORTS & RECREATIONS PROVIDES ADULT RECREATION PROGRAMS AS WELL. THERE ARE 5 DIFFERENT ADULT BASKETBALL SEASONS THAT WE RUN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WEEKEND LEAGUES OFFERED IN THE WINTER, SPRING AND FALL AND WEEKDAY LEAGUES OFFERED IN THE SPRING AND LATE SUMMER. BETWEEN ALL OF OUR SEASONS WE SEE AROUND 150 ADULT BASKETBALL TEAMS MEANING WE ARE PROVIDING HEALTHY EXERCISE FOR OVER 1,000 INDIVIDUALS.
