About

HOPE TO CHILDREN IN HOSPITALS26,000 Healing Art Coloring Books reached children in hospitals going through difficult treatments. As girls go through our Healing Arts program called River + Pearls they are encouraged to explore how they can take what they have experienced, use their creative gifts and bring hope to someone else. One of our high school girls, Morgan, did just this. What started as simple gesture of love to bring hope to children in a local hospital rapidly spread throughout the state of Colorado and then to childrens hospitals throughout the USA.Morgan began her healing arts journey with us when she was 15 years old. Two years later, she had an idea to create a coloring book with her drawings that would bring inspiration to children in hospitals. Morgans hope is that children and teens may experience healing through artthat coloring each picture is a creative outlet to process their emotions, focus on something positive, bring comfort to their hearts, and fill their surroundings with love. From Morgan: My Journey Coloring Book flows from a very deep and personal journey I have been on after losing my little 10-year-old sister from a very brief and tragic battle with Leukemia. I began my journey with River + Pearls to use creativity and art to process what I was going through. All of the pages in the coloring book have been created from my own personal journey and then re-created in a format to provide a tool for other girls to process whatever they are going through, whatever it might be.As part of my creative journey with River + Pearls I was encouraged to think about what I have experienced in life and think of how I could bring hope to others. When thinking about how I could honor Jordyns life I thought about all the children and even teenagers who are in hospitals going through difficult experiences. Many people brought coloring books to my little sister when she was in the hospital, but they were often too difficult to do because she felt weak and did not have the energy to complete them.I had the idea to create a coloring book that would be both inspirational and manageable for the children. I wanted each page to have purpose. The left side of the page is blank so they have space to write out what they are feeling or create something of their own. As the children color the pictures I hope they will find a creative outlet to process their feelings, focus their attention on something positive, bring comfort to their hearts and fill their room with love. CULTIVATING PEARLS BOOK & PROGRAM FOR YOUTH5,000 youth reached with our core mentoring curriculum, Cultivating Pearls. (Tyndale House) Used on high school and college campuses, youth groups and mentoring programs for at risk youth.Tyndale House publishing asked to publish our core curriculum written by our founder and used in our key-mentoring program. This book contract was made in the name of our nonprofit organization with all our proceeds being used to help fund our programs and outreach to children and youth. Our founder wrote an innovative and interactive curriculum that mentors girls how to use a creative process to grow in all areas of their lives; spiritually, mentally, emotionally, relationally and physically. Each lesson presents a story, quote and questions that lead girls on a journey of discovering what they think, how they feel and what they want to do to express their ideas through words, drawings and color. Each girl, like a pearl, is unique and Cultivating Pearls presents new tools for girls to explore who they are, who they want to become and how their beautiful live can make a difference in this world.Cultivating Pearls is a blend of spiritual formation, healing arts and life coaching.
