Mission

The Spartanburg Academic Movement (SAM) works to improve economic mobility by improving academic achievement across Spartanburg County, cradle to career, with a special focus on eliminating the impact of systemic inequities and opportunity gaps in academic achievement. SAM operates within the national StriveTogether model for impact across a cradle to career continuum, tracking student achievement across key learning stages: kindergarten success; early grades reading; middle grades math; high school graduation; post-secondary enrollment, persistence, and completion. We convene program and service providers, align resources, and drive equity across community sectors that support academic and life success for the children and families of Spartanburg County.
