Horticulture: The Gardens horticulture program develops plant collections and maintains landscapes for display, home gardening demonstrations and information dissemination, and in support of research and ex-situ conservation. The ex situ conservation efforts with the Gardens living collections included 1,230 species of conservation concern and the Gardens seed bank held 34% of state of Missouri's native flora. Our plant collections included 17,200 taxa and 7,900 species. The Garden's 76 acres feature indoor and outdoor plant displays that attracted 1,037,216 visitors to all sites in 2018. Home gardeners around the world regularly utilize the Garden's on-site and digital resources. There were more than 20,000,000 visits to the gardening web resources in 2018.
