About

The organization was co-commissioned with the Park Avenue Armory in New York to make a performance project entitled, 'An Occupation of Loss' with American artist, Taryn Simon, to provide performances involving professional mourners from countries around the world. The performance included a spectacular set collaborated with the architecture firm, OMA's Shohei Shigematsu. The show was built around the idea of loss, one that brings together a group of more than thirty professional mourners referred to in the program as 'collaborating artists'. They settled in eleven concrete towers, delivered simultaneous lamentations, accompanied by musical instruments, handwringing, and/or tears, depending on culture and custom. Performances took place in New York and London.
