About this organization
Mission
The mission of Table to Table is to keep wholesome, edible food from going to waste by collecting it from donors and distributing it to those in need through agencies that serve the hungry, homeless and at-risk populations.
About
Table to Table (T2T) builds vital connections between abundance and hunger in Johnson County. And we do it by transporting wholesome food that would otherwise go to waste to community agencies who feed those in need. This year, Table to Table distributed nearly 2.5 million pounds of donated food. One in seven Johnson County residents and 1 in 5 children struggle to meet their basic food needs. This year, T2T delivered rescued food to 19,000 food insecure neighbors. What's more, we prioritize the delivery of the most nutritious and otherwise cost-prohibitive foods, delivering more than a million pounds of produce, meat and dairy to 50 agency partners. Hungry, homeless and at-risk populations in Johnson County don't have adequate access to food and even less access to nutritious fresh foods. Nutritious, fresh foods are the most cost prohibitive for local social service agencies to provide to those they serve. Nearly half of the T2T deliveries are high value produce, meat, and dairy. Through food rescue and hunger relief efforts, Table to Table efficiently keeps food out of the waste stream, minimizes food insecurity for individuals and families, and recaptures 6 million dollars in valuable food for our community.
