The DCDC is involved in supporting existing businesses and recruiting new businesses to the Dewitt area. The DCDC partnered with the small business center to provide free counseling for business owners, 39 participated. 39,900 of chamber bucks were sold, keeping spending dollars in Dewitt. A Look Local First initiative was maintained, designed to encourage residents, employees and visitors to purchase goods and services in the community. The DCDC is a member of two economic development regions Quad Cities First and Prosperity Eastern Iowa. Our staff partners and leads community workforce development initiatives with business and educational institutions in our region; including hands on activities, which provided 1,000+ area students with career exposure opportunities. The DCDC responds to prospective business inquiries regarding expansion opportunities in our community.
