Dance education: In FY 18-19, Ballet Fantastique offered year-round dance classes and workshops for youth ages 2-18, with a separate community adult ballet education program. The Academy of Ballet Fantastique; served over 350 students through motivated, in-depth dance education classes offered nearly 50 wks of the year taught by an international team of professional teaching artists; increased scholarship support and financial aid to ensure need-blind admissions for talented students (over 50k in support awarded in 17-18); conducted summer intensive camps and workshops for beginning through professional students, including the summer professional dancer development program, drawing auditions nationally and internationally; trained new faculty instructors through our advanced teacher training program; and mentored eight aspiring professional apprentice dancers (30-40+ hours of training and immersive professional performance experience/wk for the full season).
