OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTSACTIVE LIVING SPACE IS A SPACE FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING, MAINTAINING AND PROMOTING A WIDE VARIETY OF OLDER ADULT PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING MULTIGENERATIONAL ACTIVITIES. IT IS A COLLABORATIVE SPACE WITH THE CITY OF GRAND RAPIDS, ITASCA COUNTY YMCA AND ELDERCIRCLE. COMMITTEE ON AGING IS A COORDINATED MONTHLY MEETING COMPRISED OF MEMEBERS FROM SENIOR CENTERS THROUGHOUT ITASCA COUNTY. THESE MEETINGS ROTATE AT DIFFERENT SENIOR CENTERS AND SPEAKERS FOUCS ON AGING ISSUES AND CONCERNS. THE MEMBERS WHOM ATTEND BRING THE INFORAMTION BACK TO EACH CENTER TO SHARE. AGING NETWORK IS A BI-MONTHLY MEETING THAT BRING PROFESSIONAL TOGETHER WHO SERVE PEOPLE 55+. AARP TAX AID IS A FREE TAX ASSISTANCE AND PREPARATION FOR LOW-TO-MIDDLE INCOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES. ALTHOUGH SPECIAL ATTENTION IS GIVEN TO THOSE AGES 60 AND OLDER, THE SERVICE IS OPEN TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY OF ANY AGE, AND AARP MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED. SOCIAL MOVABILITY IS A COLLABORATIVE TRANSPORTATION PROJECT WITH MOBILITY MANIA, ITASCA LIFE OPTIONS, AEOA AND ELDERCIRCLE THAT WILL OFFER ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE RIDES FOR SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS AFTER PUBLIC TRANSIT HOURS FOCUSING ON OLDER ADULTS 60+ AND DIFFERENTLY-ABLED PEOPLE OF ALL AGES.
