Mission

The Minnesota Land Trust protects and restores Minnesota's most vital natural lands in order to provide wildlife habitat, clean water, outdoor experiences and scenic beauty for generations to come.

About

See Schedule OProtection: 25 projects were completed, protecting 4,194 acres and 96,857 linear feet of shoreline. We also worked with the City of Duluth to identify lands appropriate to include in its Duluth Natural Area Program designation, which is a protection status authorized by city council. Restoration: Continuing our work on the St. Louis River Restoration Initiative with the Wisconsin DNR, 219 acres of wild rice were seeded. We also worked with the US Fish & Wildlife Service to restore nearly 200 acres of wetlands and prairie in the Prairie Pothole Region of Minnesota.Engagement: The Land Trust continues to work with the City of Duluth to further the city's outdoor experience initiative. Of note was our work with Duluth Youth Outdoors, which seeks to get young people outside. More than 400 area youth experienced the outdoors through DYO last year, many of whom would never have an outdoor experience otherwise.
