ADDITIONAL NEW SPECIES ADDED TO THE ZOO'S COLLECTION INCLUDED ROSELLA PARAKEETS, GREEN IGUANA, AUSTRALIAN BUDGERIGARS, CABOT'S TRAGOPAN, AND EURASIAN EAGLE OWL. THE ZOO EXPERIENCED THE BIRTH OF PREHENSILE-TAILED SKINKS AFRICAN PYGMY HEDGEHOGS, AND BURROWING OWL CHICKS IN 2018. MOST NOTABLY, THE ZOO SECURED A COMBINATION OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE FUNDING TO RENOVATE PREVIOUSLY ABANDONED EXHIBIT SPACE TO ACCOMODATE BROWN BEARS, BLACK BEARS, PUMA, AND RIVER OTTER IN THE COMING MONTHS. THE 'BEHIND-THE-SCENES' TOURS PROVIDED BY THE ZOO CONTINUE TO BE A FAVORITE AMONG GUESTS; THEY INCLUDE ESCORTED TOURS OF ANIMAL HOLDING AND ACCESS AREAS, ANIMAL FEEDING ROUTINES, AND OUR STATE-OF-THE-ART ANIMAL MEDICAL FACILITY.
