ESSENTIA HEALTH DEER RIVER IS A LEVEL IV TRAUMA CENTER AND AN ACUTE STROKE READY HOSPITAL. IT OFFERS EMERGENCY CARE 24 HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, HOME HEALTH, INTENSIVE CARE, AND OBSTETRICS AND BIRTHING SERVICES.ESSENTIA HEALTH DEER RIVER HAS A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY CONNECTED TO THE HOSPITAL THAT PROVIDES 24 HOUR SKILLED NURSING AND PERSONAL CARE. RESIDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO PHYSICAL, OCCUPATIONAL, SPEECH, RESPIRATORY AND CARDIAC REHABILITATION THERAPIES. IN ADDITION, ESSENTIA HEALTH DEER RIVER'S SENIOR LIVING APARTMENTS PROVIDE A FULL SPECTRUM OF SENIOR LIVING OPPORTUNITIES.ESSENTIA HEALTH DEER RIVER EMPLOYS OVER 190 FULL TIME EQUIVALENTS. THE HOSPITAL PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 1,100 HOSPITAL PATIENT DAYS AND 24,000 OUTPATIENT VISITS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2019. THE CLINICS HAD OVER 20,000 ENCOUNTERS AND THE SKILLED NURSING FACILITY PROVIDED OVER 7,300 RESIDENT DAYS DURING THE SAME TIME PERIOD.DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2019, ESSENTIA HEALTH DEER RIVER PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITY BENEFITS: $455,000 IN CHARITY CARE, $1.1 MILLION COSTS IN EXCESS OF MEDICAID PAYMENTS, $39,000 IN COMMUNITY SERVICES, AND $75,000 IN HEALTH PROFESSION EDUCATION.
