EDUCATION: APPROXIMATELY 600 PUBLIC, PAROCHIAL, AND HOME-SCHOOLED STUDENTS VISIT THE PIONEER MUSEUM ANNUALLY. WHEN VISITING, THEY ARE ENGAGED IN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES RELATIVE TO MARTIN COUNTY HISTORY. HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE AGE STUDENTS PERIODICALLY UTILIZE THE RESEARCH LIBRARY IN ORDER TO CONDUCT RESEARCH FOR THEIR SPECIFIC STUDIES. OTHER VISITORS FREQUENTLY UTILIZE THE RESEARCH LIBRARY IN ORDER TO CONDUCT RESEARCH CONCERNING RELATIVES OR INDIVIDUAL INTERESTS. THERE ARE ALSO OCCASIONAL PRESENTATIONS BY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY THAT ARE ALSO ATTENDED BY LOCAL RESIDENTS AS WELL. ARTICLES OF HISTORIC PERTINENCE TO MARTIN COUNTY ARE PROVIDED TO THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS AND ARE PUBLISHED MONTHLY. IN ADDITION, OUR WEBSITE WWW.FAIRMONT.ORG/MCHS PROVIDES RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MCHS AS WELL AS INFORMATION ABOUT THE HISTORY OF MARTIN COUNTY. THE MUSEUM HAS APPROXIMATELY 2,500 TOTAL VISITORS ANNUALLY, INCLUDING VISITORS FROM MANY OF THE STATES AND MANY FOREIGN COUNTRIES. COMMUNITY BUILDING: POWER POINT AND DVD PRESENTATIONS ON VARIOUS LOCAL HISTORICAL TOPICS INCLUDING MARTIN COUNTY MILITARY VETERAN'S INTERVIEWS ARE PRESENTED FREQUENTLY. IN ADDITION, VARIOUS COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PERIODICALLY HOLD MEETINGS, CLASS REUNIONS, AND FAMILY REUNIONS AT THE MUSEUM. HISTORIC POWER POINT PRESENTATIONS ARE PROVIDED ON SITE AND OFF SITE TO SCHOOLS, NURSING HOMES, AND OTHER GROUPS AS REQUESTED.
