About
Fiscal year 2019 was a landmark year for the M. With much anticipation, we opened the first phase of the new museum in December 2018. Since then, we have welcomed more than 20,000 people. We are once again becoming the go-to arts learning location for thousands of schoolchildren in the east metro as well as adults from across the twin cities who come to learn more about our shared community through the visual arts. Here are some key highlights from the last year: Exhibitions mounted nine exhibitions, including those in our new space and pop up exhibitions in the community. Continued off-site programming by mounting our Seeds of Change exhibition at the Red Wing Arts Center. Arts learning and engagement launched the new Josephine Adele Ford Center for Creativity offered 17 studio art classes, including portraiture, Hmong embroidery, oil painting, and plein air painting. Created an artist takeover program that provided artist residencies to two artists. Hosted numerous artists talks, curator tours, community convenings, and other engagements.
