Mission

WISDOM works with congregation-based community organizations to create understanding and build relationships across boundaries, to train leaders, and to organize people to advocate for social change that is in accord with their values.

About

WISDOM's 11 affiliate organizations across the state of Wisconsin turned out over 800 people to a Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on June 11, 2018 to present their issues to 9 of the 11 official gubernatorial Candidates. Each of the participating candidates committed to work in favor of the WISDOM issues: TAD Funding, 17-year-olds in detention, Education, Old Law Parole, Compassionate Release, Revocations, Transitional Jobs, Immigration, Back Forty Mine, Transit, Solitary Confinement, and Health Care as a Human Right. This event was part of the Race to Justice Campaign that engaged people across the state, educating about the issues and encouraging participation in the 2018 election. 2. EXPO, EX-incarcerated People Organizing, led WISDOM's Race to Justice Campaign that did concentrated education and outreach across the state, lifting up the WISDOM issues. EXPO continues their leadership in the #Closemsdf Campaign with presentations to religious and community groups, prayer vigils, and outreach to elected officials. This campaign demonstrates the need to end "Crimeless revocations" in Wisconsin and has drawn support from hundreds of groups and individuals.
