Salmon-a-ramathis is a nine day fishing tournament and is held in mid-July. In 2017 we had almost 2000 participants in the tournament and hundreds more that came to observe the weigh in. Although salmon-a-rama generates some revenue for the organization, it also serves as an excellent platform to educate the public, both old and young. We pass out free brochures and coloring books for children. This year we gave children the opportunity to make a free 'fish t-shirt'. Children could also participate in our poster contest, which centered on 'keeping the lake clean.' We also have volunteers on hand to explain what salmon and trout fishing is all about as people look at the large fish on display in our freezers.
