The Ajo Center for Sustainable Agriculture promotes beyond-organic, sustainable local gardening, and enjoying produce that has not been treated or processed in any way. We grow desert-adapted varieties, prioritizing heirloom varieties, and advocate pesticide-free natural and biodynamic growing techniques which promote healthy plants and reduce their susceptibility to disease and infestation. In 2016, Ajo Center served 3,000 unduplicated individuals and 100 members of Ajo Gardener's Network. Ajo Center produced 8,000 lbs of locally grown food and provided 300 free educational events to the Ajo community.
