About this organization
Mission
At Kids Hope USA, we exist to build life-changing relationships one at a time: One Child. One Hour. One School. One Church. We believe that students across the country can benefit from one-on-one mentorship, especially those who are identified by their teachers, school counselors, and principals as those needing academic, social, and emotional support and encouragement. We fulfill our mission by partnering the local church with their area elementary school, sending volunteer mentors into schools to meet with their student, one-on-one, for one hour, each week.
About
Kids Hope USA enables churches to recruit, train and supervise volunteers from their church membership for mentoring relationships with at-risk public school children. As of September 31, 2019, there are more than 22,000 trained volunteers, engaged in the lives of these elementary aged children. KHUSA supports churches in 37 states serving over 10,000 students each week in the Kids Hope USA program. While these are great numbers, there are still more schools waiting for volunteers, and KHUSA continues the work to reach each one of these children.
