STUDENT LEARNING SERVICES (SLS) OFFERS ONLINE LEARNING SOLUTIONS ENABLING SCHOOLS TO OFFER STUDENT EQUAL ACCESS TO DIVERSE ONLINE COURSES. INCLUDED WITHIN SLS IS THE MICHIGAN VIRTUAL SCHOOL (MVS). PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SERVICES (PLS) PROVIDES ONLINE LEARNING SOLUTIONS FOR EDUCATORS AND THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY. HIGH QUALITY COURSES AND RESOURCES CAN BE ACCESSED THROUGH THE PORTAL TO MEET PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS, EARN STATE CONTINUING EDUCATION CLOCK HOURS AND MORE. IN 2012, THE MICHIGAN VIRTUAL LEARNING RESEARCH INSTITUTE WAS ESTABLISHED TO EXPAND MICHIGAN'S CAPACITY TO SUPPORT NEW LEARNING MODELS, ENGAGE IN ACTIVE RESEARCH TO INFORM NEW POLICIES IN ONLINE AND BLENDED LEARNING AND STRENGTHEN THE STATE'S INFRASTRUCTURES FOR SHARING BEST PRACTICES.
