IN REALIZATION OF THE NEED FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION BETWEEN PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES AND PEOPLE IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES THE CORPORATION HAS BEEN CREATED TO EDUCATE PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES ABOUT DEVELOPMENT ISSUES AND THE NEED FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION. IICD MICHIGAN PROMOTES DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND RESEARCH INTO ISSUES OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT, AND IN 2018 OPERATED A TRAINING PROGRAM FOCUSING ON INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT WITH PARTICIPANTS FROM UNITED STATES AS WELL AS FROM MEXICO, ARGENTINA, COSTA RICA, COLOMBIA AND BRAZIL. THE PARTICIPANTS WORKED AS PART OF THEIR PROGRAM IN DEVELOPING PROJECTS IN ZAMBIA, MOZAMBIQUE AND MALAWI. FURTHERMORE, THE TRAINING PROGRAM FOCUSES ON DEVELOPMENT THEORY, THE CONDITIONS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED IN DEVELOPMENT AND CHARITABLE WORK AND OTHER RELEVANT SUBJECTS. THE PROGRAM TRAINS A WIDE RANGE OF SKILLS THAT ENABLE INDIVIDUALS TO PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS EITHER IN THE UNITED STATES OR IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.
