THE IMMEDIATE FOCUS IS TO BUILD UPON THE ACADEMY FOUNDATION'S PROGRAMS, WITH EMERGING PROJECTS AND GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES TO MEET THE GROWING NEEDS OF THE PUBLIC AND SIMULTANEOUSLY INCREASE ANNUAL FUNDRAISING SUPPORT TO SUSTAIN ONGOING PROGRAMS.SCHOLARSHIPSTHE FOUNDATION IS THE WORLDWIDE LEADER OF DIETETICS SCHOLARSHIPS, AND LOOKS TO KEEP PACE WITH A GROWING POOL OF STUDENT APPLICANTS, PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES AT ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND HELPING TO BUILD A QUALIFIED AND DIVERSE WORKFORCE. (SEE CONTINUATION ON SCHEDULE O) PROGRAM SERVICES ACCOMPLISHMENTS:GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, AWARDS TO DIETETIC PROFESSIONAL AND STIPENDS TO ATTEND FNCE, FELLOWSHIPS AND RESEARCH FUNDS.THE FOUNDATION PRIORITIZES OPPORTUNITIES THAT ALIGN WITH THE ACADEMY AND FOUNDATION'S SECOND CENTURY VISION AND FURTHER ADVANCE THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION AND STRATEGIC PLAN WHICH POSITION THE ORGANIZATION TO TAKE A LEADERSHIP ROLE ON THE GLOBAL STAGE WHILE MAINTAINING OUR EDUCATION AND RESEARCH EFFORTS NATIONALLY. THIS MAY BE ACHIEVED THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS, FELLOWSHIPS, GRANTS AND PUBLIC EDUCATION THAT FOCUS ON PREVENTION AND WELLNESS, HEALTH CARE AND HEALTH SYSTEMS & FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY.AWARDSLEADERSHIP AWARDS GIVEN TO STUDENTS, PRACTITIONERS AND FACULTY RECOGNIZE THE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS OF ACADEMY MEMBERS, ENCOURAGING INDIVIDUALS TO GROW AS PROFESSIONALS AND ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE IN NEW AND DEVELOPING AREAS OF FOOD AND NUTRITION. RESEARCHTHE FOUNDATION'S RESEARCH INVESTMENT IN EMERGING AREAS, SUCH AS NUTRITION EDUCATION INTERVENTION, ADVANCES THE ACADEMY AND ITS MEMBERS AS THE NUTRITION EXPERTS. FUNDS RAISED FOR RESEARCH, ESPECIALLY THOSE RELATED TO CHILDHOOD OBESITY HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON CONSUMERS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE MOST RELEVANT AND ACCURATE FOOD AND NUTRITION INFORMATION. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES SEED MONEY TO ACADEMY MEMBERS TO CONDUCT PILOT STUDIES AND COLLECT INITIAL DATA THAT CAN BE USED TO SECURE ADDITIONAL GRANTS.KIDS EAT RIGHTTHE FOUNDATION CONTINUES SUPPORT OF KIDS EAT RIGHT, OUR SIGNATURE PUBLIC EDUCATION PLATFORM, BY GROWING AND ENHANCING CONTENT ON THE KIDS EAT RIGHT WEBSITE AND EXPANDING NATIONAL KIDS EAT RIGHT MONTH EACH AUGUST.
