Mission
Have Dreams’ mission is to help individuals with autism learn, function independently and socialize so that they may realize their full potential and develop into contributing members of their communities. Have Dreams offers programs for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder from childhood through adulthood. Have Dreams was founded in 1996 by parents and educators seeking to fill a void in the community for children with autism. Autism is a complex, neurological disorder that impacts the functioning of the brain. Have Dreams serves 150 children, teens and adults with autism through lifespan programs held year-round at our facilities in Park Ridge and Evanston.

Vocational: comprised of 3 main parts: life skills, project search and have dreams academy for participants with an autism diagnosis who are young adults. Participants develop crucial vocational skills, are provided job preparation and training, and attend community outings. Participants have an opportunity to implement work skills they develop during the program and generalize these skills in appropriate work settings. There is also a concentration on socialization through field trips, structured social activities and participation in an extensive fitness and healthy living program. There were 16 life skills participants, 9 project search participants and 15 have dreams academy participants during the year.
