Our understanding of sustainable development is informed by the agenda of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We believe manufacturing plays a vital role in rebuilding communities. The manufacturing sectors provides living wage jobs and upwardly mobile careers - the average wage in manufacturing is $75,000 plus benefits.

The National Manufacturing Renaissance Council is a strategic partnership of public and private sector partners committed to supporting U.S. advanced manufacturing and also acts as the umbrella organization for a network of regionally focused Manufacturing Renaissance Council (MRC) development partnerships. The MRC model unites business, labor, government, education, and community leaders in operating programs to support their regional advanced manufacturing sectors and includes the Chicago MRC; a coalition of business, labor, government, education, and community leaders working to make Chicago the global leader in advanced manufacturing. Today, the Chicago MRC is a leading voice on regional development and education policy.
