COMMUNITYIN 2019, $1,394,755 WAS SPENT TO ENHANCE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES. THE NICHOLAS CONSERVATORY & GARDENS FACILITY AND CAMPUS WERE ENHANCED UTILIZING $586,636 TO PROVIDE A MUCH NEEDED ROSE GARDEN SLOPE RENOVATION, SUSPENDED MOTION ENTRY SCULPTURE LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING RENOVATIONS, IRRIGATION UPGRADES AND LAGOON FOUNTAIN AND LIGHTING REPLACEMENT. IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS AND EXHIBITS WERE SUPPORTED: BUTTERFLY EXHIBIT, FULL BLOOM ORCHID EXHIBIT, LORIKEET BIRD EXHIBIT, MODEL TRAIN EXHIBIT INCLUDING ADDITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS, ALL AGLOW HOLIDAY EXHIBIT, OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT, AND ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES. $33,401 WAS USED TO BEAUTIFY THE CITY WITH OVER 200 HANGING FLOWER BASKETS AND LARGE POTS OF FLOWERS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. $19,545 WAS SPENT ON THE SECOND YEAR OF A PAID PARKS & RECREATION INTERN PROGRAM. FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT SERIES WAS PROVIDED THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER IN 2 OUTDOOR VENUES FOR $25,745. $37,603 WAS SPENT TO PROVIDE THERAPEUTIC RECREATION SERVICES THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS BUDDY BASEBALL, BE SOCIAL ADULT PROGRAM, AND JR. CHARIOT'S WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL. OTHER COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES MADE POSSIBLE BY FOUNDATION FUNDING WERE THE TROLLEY CAR 36, SNOW SCULPTING COMPETITION, DOG PARKS AND LOCKWOOD PARK AND FARM AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW DOWNTOWN SKATE PARK.
