BACH, HANDEL, VIVALDI, MOZART AND HAYDN ARE FEATURED REGULARLY EACH SEASON. LESSER KNOWN WORKS ARE ALSO FEATURED AS MUSIC OF THE BAROQUE SEEKS TO EXPAND THE AWARENESS OF AND APPRECIATION FOR WORKS FROM THE RENAISSANCE, BAROQUE AND EARLY CLASSICAL PERIODS.DEVOTED TO EXPANDING ITS AUDIENCE AND ITS REACH TO A WIDER, MORE DIVERSE POPULATION, MUSIC OF THE BAROQUE UNDERTAKES SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS "BAROQUE IN THE PARK" - A LARGE SCALE COMMUNITY CONCERT AT THE PRITZKER PAVILION IN MILLENNIUM PARK.MUSIC OF THE BAROQUE ALSO RUNS A HIGHLY REGARDED CHORAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR 1200 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED PARTS OF CHICAGO. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES FREE VOICE LESSONS FOR STUDENTS WHO WOULD NOT OTHERWISE HAVE ACCESS TO SUCH TEACHING. RECENTLY, THE PROGRAM HAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MORE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES. MUSIC OF THE BAROQUE BROADCASTS REGULARLY ON 98.7 WFMT RADIO, NOT JUST ACROSS CHICAGO BUT ALSO ACCROSS THE NATION THROUGH SYNDICATED STATIONS.AS THE ORGANIZATION APPROACHES ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY, AN AMBITIOUS SERIES OF CONCERTS, OUTREACH EVENTS, RECORDINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS WILL FURTHER ENHANCE THE ORGANIZATION'S IMPACT ON AUDIENCES ACROSS CHICAGO AND BEYOND.
