Community investment and initiatives - United Way works hard to ensure community impact contributions are invested in several targeted priorities to make the maximum impact possible in the Quad Cities area. Allocable community impact funds are distributed through a volunteer review process, whereby local volunteers assess programs and recommend fund allocations to the United Way QCA board of directors. In the Quad Cities, approximately 150 volunteers are involved in this important process. The board of directors also invests community impact funds in United Way QCA operations and United Way QCA initiatives such as emergency grant fund and community impact activities.
