About this organization
Mission
Asase Yaa African-American Dance Theatre is a collection of artists dedicated to the promotion, maintenance and transmission of traditional African Cultural Sciences through our educational and entertaining programs.
About
THE ASASE YAA CHILDRENS ARTS CAMP is a performing arts program that teaches young artists dance, music, singing, drama and set building. AYCAC was developed to build character, unity, confidence in children while learning from some of the best professional artists in the city. This program is a place of family, fun, creativity, encouragement and education. Each year the children are able to express themselves by telling a story while incorporating art, dance, music and singing in an original muscial production each year. The program helps to form friendships beyond the program. It instills independence, confidence and develops leadership skills. By teaching children new dances and taking them on trips to places they have yet to experience, we develop a platform for for developing the younger citizens of our community and foster the brillance in them.
