Mission

To advance justice through legal representation and education for our disadvantaged neighbors as a way to demonstrate Christ’s love.

About

For three decades, the Clinic has dedicated itself to serving the legal needs of underprivileged Hoosiers. On April 12, 1992, Pastor Frank Kik gave a Palm Sunday sermon proposing Tabernacle Presbyterian Church’s (or “TAB”) expansion of its outreach into the city of Indianapolis through various ministries. Six attorneys felt inspired by Pastor Kik’s sermon and came together to found the Clinic in 1994. The organization was created to address the pressing community need for greater access to legal services in underserved communities. Grounded in faith and a strong sense of purpose, the Clinic’s founders passionately worked to nurture its growth, pushing it to become the legal aid agency it is today. Even now, the Clinic continues to offer essential legal aid through our 6 unique program areas.
