Education and Community Events: Walking and Trolley tours; community partnerships; presentations by volunteers of educational programs to students and other groups. School groups participated in diverse activities relating to art, education, economics and the environment. More than 10,000 visitors went on over 325 walks and tours, as well as over 35,000 visitors to the James A. Garfield Monument and Wade Memorial Chapel. Guides are stationed in the Monument and Chapel daily to provide visitors information about President Garfield's life and the beauty and history of the buildings. Concerts: Series of outdoor concerts designed to encourage visitors to enjoy the beauty and vibrancy of Lake View. Over 2,100 people attended the 6 concerts. Newsletter: Written entirely in-house, the Heritage newsletter includes articles on various historically and culturally significant persons buried at Lake View. Community events and educational activities are publicized. Published twice a year and mailed to over 8,000 people locally, nationally and internationally and distributed to over 4,000 visitors to the cemetery.
