Mission

The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, or CAL, ignites student learning, creativity, and success through the arts. CAL’s mission is fulfilled each day in classrooms, libraries, and community spaces across Northeast Ohio through active engagement in workshops, residencies, and performances that not only teach students about the arts, but integrate the arts as an accessible pathway to academic, cognitive, and social-emotional growth. Youth enrolled in preschool to 12th grade are CAL’s primary audience, though we also empower educators and teaching artists through professional development. Instruction is provided by a roster of over 60 full-time and freelance teaching artists who, collectively, possess training and expertise in the full spectrum of visual, performing, and digital arts.
