MAIN STAGE SEASON:DOBAMA THEATRE'S 2018/19 SEASON WAS ITS FIFTH AS A FULL ACTORS' EQUITY SMALL PROFESSIONAL THEATRE (AEA-SPT). BY IMPLEMENTATION OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE AEA-SPT RULES AND GUIDELINES, DOBAMA ENSURES A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE WORKING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL STAFF AND ARTISTS. OUR AEA-SPT DESIGNATION INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF RETAINING LOCAL TALENT BY OFFERING A LIVING WAGE AND HEALTH BENEFITS TO PROFESSIONAL ACTORS AND STAGE MANAGERS, AS WELL AS OFFERING AN OPTION FOR NON-AEA ARTISTS AND STAGE MANAGERS TO OBTAIN UNION STATUS THROUGH THE EQUITY MEMBERSHIP CANDIDATE (EMC) PROGRAM. DOBAMA'S STATUS AS A FULL-TIME AEA-SPT BROADENS BOTH ITS STANDING AS WELL AS THAT OF THE GREATER CLEVELAND THEATRE COMMUNITY ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS MISSION, DOBAMA THEATRE PRESENTED THE CLEVELAND PREMIERES OF 7 MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS IN 2018/19. THESE PRODUCTIONS INCLUDED LOCAL PROFESSIONAL ACTORS (BOTH UNION AND NON-UNION), DESIGNERS, AND DIRECTORS.
