Mission

Nativity Prep Academy is the only private, independent, tuition-free Catholic school in San Diego dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education by serving low-income students who will represent the first generation in their families to earn a college degree. We serve 65+ students in grades six, seven, and eight (taught on our campus) as well as 80+ of our graduates attending private, charter and other local high schools with scholarships and weekly workshops and seminars. We continue our relationship through college, and we assist 90+ of our graduates with support services until they receive their college degree. In total, we serve over 230 students, graduates and their families.

NATIVITY PREP ACADEMY IS A PRIVATE, WASC-ACCREDITED, ALL-SCHOLARSHIP MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE JESUIT TRADITION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING A RIGOROUS AND ENRICHING EDUCATION TO HARDWORKING YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES WHO WILL BE THE FIRST,OR AMONG THE FIRST,IN THEIR FAMILIES TO GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE.WE CURRENTLY SERVE OVER 200 STUDENTS. THERE WERE 63 STUDENTS ON-CAMPUS FOR THE 2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR ATTENDING OUR MIDDLE-SCHOOL PROGRAM WHICH IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS IN HIGH SCHOOL,IN COLLEGE AND IN LIFE.WE HAVE ANOTHER 140+ OF OUR GRADUATES IN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE WHOM WE SERVE THROUGH OUR GRADUATE SUPPORT PROGRAM THAT WE MAINTAIN ONGOING CONTACT WITH EACH GRADUATE IN A NUMBER OF WAYS, INCLUDING FORMAL AND INFORMAL VISITS TO THEIR HIGH SCHOOLS, MEETINGS WITH FAMILIES AND MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTERS. WE ALSO HOST THREE TO FOUR SCHEDULED SOCIAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR GRADUATING CLASSES TO REUNITE WITH THEIR PEERS.NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF OUR GRADUATES, TO DATE, HAVE EARNED THEIR HIGHSCHOOL DIPLOMA AND MORE THAN 80% OF THEM HAVE MATRICULATED TO A TWO ORFOUR-YEAR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY.
